| The Might and Magic RPG series (M&M) by 3DO/New World Computing is one of the three big franchises of old school computer fantasy role-playing with Ultima and Wizardry being the other two. Along with the Bard's Tale series, M&M defined the old school computer hack 'n slash RPG over nine parts spanning from 1986 till 2002. The Might and Magic world spawned numerous spin-offs with Heroes of Might and Magic being the most successful.
Scenarios one to five of the series are DOS games where six to nine are windows-based. The ninth part wasn't well received by press and gamers alike, so chances are that a tenth part will never be released.
