| Organizations and pages which advocate a national sales tax. This would be a tax on all sales of goods, much the local sales tax that some (but not all) states place on their citizens.
These proposals almost always include a way of making it non-regressive: So that poor people won't have to pay on their basic life needs, either essentials like food and a portion of housing would be exempted, or every single person would get back thousands of dollars at the end of the year, which would be insignificant to the wealthy but for the poor people would make up for paying the tax all year. |
